Zella Maggard

Zella Maggard, age 96 departed this life on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born on Saturday, June 9, 1928 to Verlon and Ethel (Philpot) Cupp. She was a homemaker and worked at Mid-South Electric. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

 She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Harold Maggard and wife Karen of Fort White, Florida; Carl Ray Maggard and wife Janet of Richmond, KY; and Deane Allen and husband Larry of London, KY; these grandchildren: Heather Pennington, Jennifer Williams, Billy Carl Maggard, Roy Maggard, Lon Maggard, Steve Maggard, Kristi Rowe, Ben Allen and Sean Allen; 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

 She is preceded in death by her parents: Verlon and Ethel Cupp; her husband: Carl “Puny” Maggard; these brothers and sisters: George Cupp, Norton Cupp, Zola Bowling, Viola Hollin, Lonzo Cupp, Inman Cupp, Ellen Durham, Kate Saylor, Herbert Cupp and Rachel Chestnut.

 Funeral services for Zella Maggard will be conducted on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 1:00 P. M. at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kenneth Felty will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in the Burning Springs Community. 

 The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, July 1, 2024 after 11:00 A. M. at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

 In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
