Roy Jarvis, age 94 of Horse Creek went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. He was born on Friday, April 22, 1932 in Urban, Kentucky to Boyd and Ella Philpot Jarvis. He worked for the Finley Coal Company, a volunteer firefighter and a member of the Horse Creek Baptist Church where he drove a bus for over 35 years, was an usher and greeter as well as many other avenues over many years.
He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of over 70 years and 8 months: Pearl Nadine Jarvis, his daughters: Renee (Robert) Knight and LaRee (Paul) Jacobs, his granddaughter: Tara (Glenn) Downs, his grandson: Joseph (Jena) Jacobs as well as a host of nieces, nephews other family and friends.
He is preceded by his parents: Boyd and Ella Jarvis, his sisters: Edna Boggs, Eva Young and Bammer Lewis, his brother: Ray Jarvis and his half-brothers: Johnny Jarvis and Jimmy Jarvis.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Denvis Rush Scholarship Fund at the Clear Creek Baptist Bible College or The Gideons International.
Funeral Services for Roy Jarvis will be conducted on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 7 PM at the Horse Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Anthony Lovett, Rev. Scotty Jewell and others will be presiding. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 11 AM at the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, August 21, 2026 after 11 AM at the Horse Creek Baptist Church.
