Mrs. Lucy S.LeNeave, age 101, passed away peacefully at her home on October 2, 2025. She was born on July 18,1924 to the late Beverly P. (BP) Baker and Lizzie Mae (Goforth) Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband Orby LeNeave, her sister Florence Baker and brother Wiley Baker and wife Jewel, and son in-law Albert Binder.
Lucy, until her passing, was the oldest member of Manchester Baptist Church, where she faithfully served in many different capacities. Lucy served as Sunday School Secretary, was an active member of Women’s Missionary Union and devoted hours to God’s Closet. Additionally, she volunteered at the Clay County Historical Society and was a lifetime member of the Manchester Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 351, with over 50 years of service.
She leaves to celebrate her life, her son David A. Smith and wife Charlotte, and her daughter Patricia Binder. Her grandchildren: Tammy Gibbs and husband Tim, Jason Binder and wife Kelli and the following great-grandchildren: Chase Gibbs and wife Casey, Brayden Gibbs and wife Whitney , Kristen Hibbard and husband Chandler, Brady Nelson Binder and Brett Ryan Binder. She also leaves three great-great grandchildren: Bentley Carson Gibbs, Luke Reed Gibbs, and Harper Reece Gibbs. Lucy is survived by her brother Leroy Baker and the following nieces and nephews: Robert Baker, Beverly Robinson, Ann Sibert, Mike Baker and their families.
The family would also like to recognize the dedicated caregivers that loved Lucy and gave exceptional care to her. Stella Davidson, Vickie Bradshaw, Vonda Spurlock, Dora Lee Hacker, Bettie Sue Thompson and the late Anna Sams.
Lucy was a friend to many, an encourager, and so very kind and nurturing. She had a deep love for her family and enjoyed celebrating all occasions with them. One of her favorite Bible verses was Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength and ever present help in trouble. The Arrangements for Mrs. Lucy are as follows:
Funeral Services for Lucy LeNeave will be held Monday, October 6, 2025 at 1:00 P. M. at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ken Bolin and Rev. Scottie Sumner will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Coldiron Cemetery in the Laurel Creek Community.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday after 11:00 A. M. until funeral time at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
