Linda Faye Bays Harris, age 73, departed this life on November 26, 2025, 7:30pm at AdventHealth in Manchester, Kentucky. Linda was born on Friday, February 8, 1952 in Harlan, Kentucky to Hardin Henry Bays and Mary Ellen Wilson Bays.
Linda was first and foremost a devoted Christian woman. She loved the Lord with her whole heart and loved all people just like Jesus wanted us to show love. Linda had a way of making everyone in her presence feel loved, of importance and like they were her favorite person in the world.
She held many jobs in her lifetime to take care of and raise her three children. The job title she held dearest was Mother, Wife, and Homemaker. Linda loved to be with family. She loved to cook for people. She loved going to church. The hardest part of her becoming bedridden was not being able to go to church.
Linda was a member of Calvary Pentecostal with pastor Buford Hooker and wife Glenda. Linda believed in the Holiness standard and lived it to the fullest, unwavering to the left or the right.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 32 years Estill Harris who devoted his life and was honored to be her caretaker during her extended sickness.
The following children: -Mary Mechelle Johnson and husband Johnny, -Angela Jackson and husband George,
-Jerry Jason Hoskins and wife Sherry, her grandchildren: -Courtney Lindessa Johnson, -Joshua Adams Collins, and -Colton Jace Hoskins, and her great grandchildren: -Emily Collins and -Noah Collins. She leaves surviving one brother Kenny Frederick Bays and Lovella. She leaves a lifelong friend, Katherine Henson whom she loved so dearly. She leaves a host of nieces and nephews, friends, and family too many to name.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Mary Ellen Wilson Bays and Hardin Henry Bays.
Her brothers: Hardin Bays, Jr., James “Bill” Bays, Joel Bays, and Jerry Bays. Her sisters: Sharon Kay Bays Roark, and Bonnie Bays Marcum.
Funeral services for Linda will be Monday, December 1, 2025, at 1:00 P. M., with Bobby Stevens with the sharing of the obituary, and words from the heart, the message from her pastor, Buford Hooker, and words from the hearts of Jonathan Marcum, Todd Hicks, and John Whitehead. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
The immediate family gather at 5:00pm and others will be received on Sunday evening at 6:00pm at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
