Karen Whittaker

Karen S. Whittaker, age 79 passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at the Advent Health Hospital in Manchester, Kentucky. She was born on Friday, May 9, 1947 in South Bend, Indiana to Merlin Walters and Freida Pauline Smith. She was a member of the Island Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Tina Louise Whittaker Franke, Richard Brian Whittaker, Jr. and grandson: Zachary Lewis Ricky Franke. Also two sisters: Sara Hawblitzel and Barbara Wise and husband Robert.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. William Hugh Hudson and Rev. George Grigsby will be presiding.

Visitation will begin after 11:00 AM Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Island Creek Missionary Baptist Church Bus and Breakfast Ministry, St. Jude Children Research Hospital, Shriners Hospital, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Disabled American Veterans, and animal shelters.
