Frank Henson

Frank Henson, age 78, of Billys Branch passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born on February 13, 1948.

Frank proudly wore many titles throughout his life-Husband, Dad, Papaw, Uncle, and Combat Veteran. He had a deep love for the outdoors and was the happiest when he was rabbit or raccoon hunting. When he wasn’t hunting, he could be found caring for a variety of farm animals and hunting dogs, searching for ginseng, sharing jokes and laughter with his family, and making sure everyone around him knew just how much they were loved. His playful spirit and kind heart will be remembered by all who knew him.

Frank honorably served his country in the United States Army, including one tour in Vietnam with the 196th Infantry Brigade, Chargers! He carried great pride in his military service throughout his life and was honored as a Kentucky Colonel in recognition of his service and dedication.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; Daughters Karen (Jason) Cox of Williamsburg, KY and Kristy Henson of Manchester, KY; and his cherished grandchildren Gunnar Farris, Nicholas Lindner, and Madelynn Farris. He is also survived by the following siblings, Margaret Woods, Elbert (Elaine) Henson, and Alfred Henson and a host of nieces and nephews.

Frank is survived by Justin (Gwenyth) Smith of London, Ky, who was like a son to him, their bond was one of love, respect, and family. Frank is also survived by his two special nieces, Melanie Estep and Megan Henson, and a very special friend and family member, Elaine Mills.

Frank is preceded in death by parents, Chester and Edna Henson of Goose Rock, brothers, Chester Henson, Jr. (Carbide), Cecil Henson, W. O. Henson, Sam Henson and Gilbert Henson.

Frank’s legacy lives on through the love he gave, the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared. Though he will be deeply missed, his love, strength and joyful spirit will remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Funeral services for Frank Henson will be conducted on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 2:00 P. M. at the Heritage Pentecostal Church. Rev. Roy Lane Woods, Rev. Mike Gray, Rev. Paul Mitchell and Rev. Ronnie Brown will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcum-Henson Cemetery at the Left Fork Billys Branch Road.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, July 24, 2026 after 12:00 P. M. at the Heritage Pentecostal Church.
