Erica Leigh Roberts

Erica Leigh Roberts, 18 years of age of Columbia Tennessee passed away Monday, March 9th, 2009 at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, January 9th, 1991 at 5:11am at Fort-Hamilton-Hughes Memorial Hospital in Hamilton, Ohio to Kimberly L. Roberts and Jerry E. Roberts. Erica spent 14 years growing up in Columbia, TN. A senior at Spring Hill High School, she was a member of Health Occupational Students Association (HOSA), and a member of the prom committee. Erica was employed at Sperry’s in Belle Meade as a hostess where she was loved and respected. She was accepted to Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN., where she planned to continue her education in the fall in the medical field, which had been her dream since she was seven years old. Erica has touched many lives both before and after her passing, she was able to give the gift of life by unselfishly donating her organs to others in need of a miracle. Erica had a passion for life and we have a passion for hers.

Erica leaves behind many family and friends that will miss her dearly. Her mother, Kimberly Lynn Roberts of Columbia, TN, father Jerry Eugene Roberts of Middletown OH, one sister, Brittany Nickole Roberts of Columbia, one nephew Jodee Lane Ray of Columbia, maternal grandmother Jean Swafford Roberts of Columbia, paternal grandmother Barbara Homan Roberts of Bradenton, FL, maternal great-grandmother Ollie Swafford of London, KY, two aunts, Shanna Gail Roberts of Bardstown, KY and Andrea Roberts of Germantown, OH. Also many great-aunts and great-uncles along with numerous cousins and other loving family members and friends.

Erica was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Billy Walter Roberts of Greenup, KY, paternal grandfather Jack Roberts of West Chester, OH, maternal great-grandparents Lottie and Chester “Doc” Roberts of Lexington, KY, great-grandfather Reid Swafford of Big Creek, KY, paternal great-grandmother Irma Taylor of Clearwater, FL.

Funeral Services for Erica will be held Friday, March 13, 2009 at 6:00pm at the Springhill First Baptist Church with visitation for friends beginning at 5pm at the church.. Additional services will also be held at Liberty Baptist Church in Oneida, Kentucky at 2:00pm EST on Saturday, March 14th, 2009, followed by the burial of her remains at Manchester Memorial Gardens in Manchester, KY. Cremation preformed by Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home Columbia, TN. In honor of Erica the family is accepting donations to help with burial and medical expenses.
