Dewey Wayne Collins born July 12, 1948, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on September 5, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Glenna Howard Collins born November 25, 1949, beloved wife, daughter, aunt, and friend passed away on September 5, 2026.
Wayne was the son of the late Caleb and Susie Napier Collins of Hector. He leaves to mourn these brothers and sisters; Carl and Pat Collins of Florida, Martha Pearl and Tony Cheek of Florida, Bobbie Dean Heatherly of Florida. Preceding Wayne in death Caleb Collins, George Collins, Roy Collins, Gladys Peace, Verlon Collins, Steve Collins, CB Collins, Betty Bowling, Alvin Collins, Ruby and John Nightlinger of Florida and Charles and Janet Collins of Florida. Wayne worked for Shamrock Coal Company for many years. He was a Vietnam War Veteran.
Glenna was the daughter of the late TJ and Lucy (Blair) Howard of Manchester Kentucky. She leaves to mourn these brothers. Mike and Zono Howard of London, Kentucky, Marshall and Lora Lee Howard of Manchester, Jeff and Abigail Howard of Liberty, Kentucky. One sister Charlotte Miller preceded in death. Glenna never met a student that she didn’t like. They leave a host of nieces, nephews, and great- nieces and nephews that they loved as their own as well as a host of friends. Glenna and Wayne attended Greenbriar Presbyterian Church. They shared a deep and abiding love that they shared with family and friends.
They leave Glenna’s caregivers Robin Smith, Rebecca Hubbard, Kendra Wilson, Briana McNamara and Sharlene Bowling. These special friends Arther and Sharlene Bowling, AJ and Crystal Bowling, and Gilbert Collins whom they loved. The family asks in lieu of flowers to donate to Gideons International. All services are private for the family.
