Delmer Messer

Delmer Messer, age 64 departed this life on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at the AdventHealth of Manchester.  He was born on Thursday, January 15, 1959 in Beverly, Kentucky to Gilbert and Maggie Grubb Messer.  He worked for the railroad, did odd jobs and worked in tobacco and was a member of the Hubbard Missionary Baptist Church.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Ruby Smith Messer, his children: Majorie Collins and Jereme, Jessica Messer and Brian Smith, Delmer Bryan Messer and Mallory, Virginia Leeann Messer Edwards and Ernie, Leighman Gilbert Messer and Bridgett and Travis Kishore Messer and Cadence Honchell as well as his grandchildren: Delmer Wesley Messer, Jeremy Collins, Joseph Collins, Jesse James Arnett, Wanda Faye Arnett, Alana Smith, Ava Smith, Akira Sizemore, Haylee Sizemore, Russell Connor Messer, Carson Burnette, Avery Messer, Carly Edwards, Madiline Edwards, Bryson Messer, Brantley Messer and Madison Messer as well as his great grandchild: Celina Messer.  Also surviving are his brothers and sisters: Bige Messer and Martha, Virginia Ann Broughton and Rev. Rick, Kenneth Messer and Linda, Vernon Messer and Jeanette and Connie Jackson.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Gilbert and Maggie Messer, his daughter: Amanda Sizemore, his grandchildren: Shawn Sizemore, Briley Sizemore and Bruce Gilbert Holt as well as his brothers: Bruce Messer and Rev. Isaac Messer.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Rominger Funeral Home to help with expenses.

Funeral Services for Delmer Messer will be conducted on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 1 PM at the Hubbard Missionary Baptist Church.  Rev. Rick Broughton and Rev. Tony Bowling will be presiding.  Burial will follow in the Messer Family Cemetery in the Mill Creek Community.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday evening from 6 PM until 9 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
