David Landon Hooker

David Landon Hooker, age 59, of Sacker in Manchester, Ky passed away on July 14, 2025 at his home. He was born on October 13, 1965 in London, Ky to the union of Stafford and Dorothy (Woods) Hooker. David was a member of the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, the Robert Clark Masonic Lodge 646, the Oneida Masonic Lodge 736, and was an Oleika Shiner.

David is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lisa Hooker, his children: Hallie Hooker, Jarrod Hooker and wife Jennifer, his grandchildren: Briley Hooker and Everleigh Hooker, along with three bonus grandchildren, Caitlyn, Leanna, and Ella Mathis. David is also survived by his brother, Michael Hooker and wife Debbie; his in-laws, Bobby and Wanda Thompson; and his brother-and sister-in-law, Robbie and Judy Thompson. He is survived by the following nieces and nephews: Michael Shaun Hooker, Rebecca Hooker, Raechelle Bowles, Natasha Hooker, Makayla Hooker Dobbs, Mathew Dobbs, and Lucas Thompson as well as these great nieces and nephews: Cameron Saylor, Miriam Saylor, Teagan Hooker and Tristen Hooker. David also leaves behind many special cousins and friends to mourn his passing.

David was preceded in death by his parents Stafford and Dorothy (Woods) Hooker.

David was an avid guitar player, and playing alongside his son, Jarrod, brought him so much joy. He also served as the guitarist at his church, where he enjoyed playing songs and singing for the Lord. In addition to his passion for music, David found happiness on the golf course. Although he never hit the ball himself, he loved being on the course, learning the game, and watching his daughter, Hallie, play.

David worked as a coal miner, equipment operator, and carpenter throughout his life. Before becoming disabled due to a cancer diagnosis in 2022, he was employed as a mechanic with the Kentucky Department of Transportation. In every job he held, David formed close relationships with his coworkers, who became like friends and family to him. He was commonly referred to as "Hook" or "Uncle Dave" by his former coworkers.

Funeral services for David Landon Hooker will be conducted on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 12 noon at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Scottie Sumner and Rev. Billy Hurd will be presiding. Burial will follow at the Woods Cemetery in the Sacker community.

The family will receive friends and loved ones after 6 pm on Thursday, July 17.

A Masonic Service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 8 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
