Carol Dobson

Carol White Dobson age 82 of Stearns, Kentucky, wife of Doug Dobson passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, Tennessee and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. A private memorial service was held. She was born July 15, 1943 in Clay County, Kentucky to the late Tole White and Helen Bundy White. Carol was a graduate of Cumberland College where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She was a faithful member of Pine Knot Southern Baptist Church and also a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary. She was a truly caring teacher, educating children in the public school system in Kentucky and at a private Christian School in Arizona. A gifted artist, Carol found great joy in drawing and painting, and she shared that talent with those around her.

Preceding her in death were her parents, brother, Larry White, sister, Parlee Parman, and brother-in-laws, Jerry Parman and Les Calhoun.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Doug Dobson, son, Aaron Dobson and wife LaShelle, daughter, Susan Downey and husband, Todd, step-son, Douglas R. Dobson and wife Lisa, and sister, Mary Betty Calhoun, grandchildren, Ethan Vosdoganes, Hayden Vosdoganes, Emily Brown, Eleanor Dobson, Nathan (Sela) Dobson, Nicholas Dobson, step-grandchildren, Marisa (Kyle) Bollenbach, Christopher (Makenzie) Downey, Nathan (Adelaide) Downey, great-grandchildren, Harley Brown, Vivian Vosdoganes, Olive Dobson, Ilias R. Dobson, step-great-grandchildren, Jordan Downey, Winslow, Downey, Owen Bollenbach.
