Carol Akins

Carol Akins, age 77, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026 at her home. She was born on Thursday, July 7, 1949 in Sunnyside, Washington to Robert Byrum and Esther Lucille (Mitchell) Hicks. She was a care giver.

She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Gregory Scott Norris, Sandra Bratcher, Angela Akins, Tonya Akins and Shari Dawoud her grandchildren: Madison Norris, Vanessa Coulter, Olivia Bratcher and Hannah Bratcher. As well as her brother: David Hicks and her sister: Arlene O’ Rourke.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert Byrum and Esther Lucille (Mitchell) Hicks.

Funeral Services for Carol Akins will be conducted on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 1 PM at the Church of God Worship Center. Rev. Brad Stevens and Rev. Joey Burns will be presiding. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens in Manchester, Kentucky.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 from 12 PM until 1 PM at the Church of God Worship Center.
