Brenda Deaton

Brenda Deaton, 64, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026, in Hazard, Ky. She was born on Sunday, March 11, 1962 in Jackson County, Kentucky to Isaac Burnis Gabbard and Opal Adkins Gordon. She was a member of Gregory Branch Holiness Church and a homemaker.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to everyone that knew her, many who were like family. There was nothing more important to her that going to church and being with her family. The last words she said to us surrounding her was, “I’m going home, come see me” while reaching up like a child. She knew she was a child of God. Brenda loved to cook and care for others. Her favorite time was Christmas and cooking Christmas dinners for her family. She also loved to go fishing.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband: Shelby Deaton and her children: Lloyd and Brittany Deaton ( a daughter-in-law like her own daughter) of McKee, Ky, Carson Donnelly of Manchester. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: a special sister: Julia and Jackie Deaton of McKee, Ky, Jason and Lynn Gabbard of McKee, Ky, Burnis Ray Gabbard and Linda of Annville, Ky, Bonnie Bowles of Sand Gap, Ky, Vickie Gabbard Morrill, Wilma Lain Hart of Richmond, Ky, Ruthie Abney of Irvine, Ky.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Isaac Gabbard and Opal Gordon; a very special big brother: Gary Gabbard, Ikie Gabbard and Lou An Gabbard.

Funeral services for Brenda Deaton will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 2:00 P. M. at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Jonathan Marcum and Danny Scott will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Deaton Cemetery in the Sacker Community.

The Family will receive friends and family from 6:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M. on Monday, August 3, 2026 at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
