Bobby Jones

Bobby Jones, age 88 passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on Friday, September 9, 1938 in Manchester, Kentucky to Colonel Jones and Cora (Stevens) Jones. He was a master barber for 30 years in Michigan. He was a member of the Island Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 65 years ( October 14, 1961): Wanda (Bowman) Jones; his daughter: Gayle D. Jones; his fur baby: Rosie and special cousins: Danny and Faye and his sister: Edna Hobbs. Also survived by his Bluegrass Banjo and Bass players.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents: Colonel and Cora Jones, his siblings: Bernice Asher, Charlie Jones, Raymond Jones, Hershell Jones and John Denzil Jones.

Funeral Services for Bobby Jones will be conducted on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. George Grigsby and Bro. William Hugh Hudson will be presiding. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 after 12:00 P. M. at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
